Tonight marks the first games of the 2021-22 NCAA Division I Hockey season and the first for the CCHA since the 2012-13 campaign. Saturday’s game will be televised on NBC Sports Boston and Sunday’s game will air on New England Sports Network Plus (NESN+). The St. Thomas Tommies will begin their first-ever hockey season at the NCAA Division I level tonight when they take on the National Runner-Up and second-ranked St. Cloud State Huskies on the road in a game televised across Minnesota on FOX 9 Plus. St. Thomas will then host St. Cloud State at the Xcel Energy Center, home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, tomorrow afternoon at 5:07pm CT. Sunday’s game can also be streamed live on the CCHA’s partner, FloSports. The defending league playoff champions Lake Superior State Lakers are in Nebraska this weekend for a pair of games against the 17th-ranked Omaha Mavericks. This weekend marks the first time these two teams have played each other in five years and can be watched live on NCHC.tv. The Ferris State Bulldogs first return to the CCHA since the 2012-13 season begins by hosting a pair of games this weekend against the Miami Redhawks. It’s the first time Ferris State has hosted Miami in eight years and both contests can be watched live on the new CCHA TV platform on FloSports. Three CCHA members will play exhibition contests tonight as well as the Bowling Green Falcons travel to Ann Arbor to play the third-ranked Michigan Wolverines streaming live on Big Ten Plus (BTN+). The 14th-ranked Bemidji State Beavers will faceoff against the eighth-ranked North Dakota Fighting Hawks in a game televised on Midco Sports Network. Two CCHA rivals will square-off in Houghton, Mich. as the Michigan Tech Huskies will host the Northern Michigan Wildcats. Â
