Minnesota State boasts a 4-2 record through arguably the toughest first six games on a schedule, having swept then #1 Massachusetts, split with #2 St. Cloud State, beat #10 Providence and dropped a 3-2 decision to #3 Michigan. Northern Michigan was unsuccessful on home-ice last weekend, losing two contests to #19 Bemidji State.  This marks the first road trip of the season for NMU. The team leader in goals and points, AJ Vanderbeck now holds a four-game streak of five goals and four assists for nine points.   Bowling Green at #17 Bemidji State Video Stream: FloHockey Radio: BSU – 92.1 FM Live Stats: Friday | Saturday  This weekend marks the first home CCHA series ever for Bemdiji State. The Beavers are 3-1 in their last four games, knocking off North Dakota and sweeping Northern Michigan all on the road.  Owen Sillinger leads all current BSU players with eight points (5g-3a) in 10 career games versus Bowling Green, while Alex Ierullo has six points (3g-3a) versus the Falcons, which includes a game-winning goal, and Ethan Somoza leads the team with two of his three career goals versus BGSU standing as game-winners.  It's the first CCHA games for Bowling Green in 3,163 days. Most recently, Bowling Green beat Miami 6-4 in front of a capacity crowd on home-ice last Saturday. Nathan Burke leads the Falcons with 4 goals this season, with Ethan Scardina in second with 3. The Huskies travel to Clarkson for the second time in the last five seasons. In the most recent non-conference series for Michigan Tech, the Huskies posted an impressive road sweep at Wisconsin.  Michigan Tech is led up front by Alec Broetzman who has five points (2G, 3A) in 3 games followed by Brian Halonen and Logan Pietila with four points each. Canisius Head Coach Trevor Large played for current Ferris State Head Coach Bob Daniels four seasons at Ferris State (2000-04). This is the first meeting between the two clubs since 2009. Ferris State has started to make a run on their penalty kill, not having allowed a power play goal in their last three games. They held UST 0-14 on the weekend on the man advantage after the Tommies came in clicking at 24.2 percent on the power play.  Brenden Rons picked up two points this past weekend with a goal and an assist, where Rons scored his first collegiate goal as a defenseman. His goal forced overtime where he had an assist on Liam MacDougall's game-winning goal.  St. Lawrence at Lake Superior State Video Stream: FloHockey Radio: LSSU - 99.5 FM Live Stats: Friday | Saturday  Lake Superior State is on a four-game winning streak, having swept their opponent the past two weekends. The Lakers close out a three-week homestand this weekend vs. St. Lawrence.  Lake Superior State now holds the three top leaders in points in the CCHA and five of the top six skaters. They boast an impressive 30% conversion rate on the power-play, scoring 13 goals with the man-advantage, which is good enough for third out of 59 teams competing at the NCAA Division I level.  Junior forward, and team captain, Louis Boudon (pronounced Lou-EE, boo-DOAN) enters this weekend riding a six-game point streak, dating back to Oct. 8 at Michigan. The Tommies are led by current CCHA Defenseman of the Week Trevor Zina with six points (2G, 4A) in eight games and boast an impressive power-play, ranking second in the CCHA with eight goals on the man advantage.  It's the first series between St. Thomas and Arizona State and a battle between two of the newest NCAA Division I hockey programs.
