Men's Ice Hockey 10/6/2021 1:37:34 PM CCHA’s MSU nationally ranked #1, BSU 15th this week The Central Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announce two CCHA teams are among those nationally ranked in the NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey poll this week. For the first time in the new CCHA era, a CCHA member was voted atop the nation as the Minnesota State Mavericks are ranked number one in this week’s United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) poll and the Bemidji State Beavers are ranked 15th. Minnesota State tops this week’s national rankings after sweeping the defending NCAA Division I National Champions and then number-one ranked Massachusetts Minutemen. The Mavericks shutout Massachusetts on Saturday’s opening night, 2-0, before scoring six unanswered goals Sunday en-route to a 6-3 victory over the Minutemen on Sunday. Number-one ranked Minnesota State will host second-ranked St. Cloud State for a pair of games this weekend in Mankato, Minn. Bemidji State was on the road for a single exhibition contest this past weekend, falling to North Dakota by a tight 2-1 margin in Grand Forks. Alex Ierullo scored the lone goal for the Beavers. #15 Bemidji State will play a home-and-home series with #5 Minnesota Duluth this weekend, starting off in Bemidji on Saturday. Michigan Tech, Lake Superior State, Bowling Green and Northern Michigan also received votes in this week’s United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) poll.
