Thursday: MSU skates past St. Thomas

Minnesota State posted a commanding 9-0 victory over St. Thomas in front of 3,875 fans Thursday night. Nathan Smith recorded 3 points (2G, 1A) to extend his point-streak to nine games. Julian Napravnik and Jake Livingstone also recorded three-point nights. The Mavericks scored two goals in 18 seconds and totaled three goals in 56 seconds to finish the first period leading 4-0.

Minnesota State outshot St. Thomas 38 to 13. Dryden McKay made all 13 saves to extend his NCAA shutout record to 28 games. Peter Thome (4 GA & 9 SV) and Jacob Berger (5 GA & 20 SV) both split time between the pipes for St. Thomas.

St. Thomas will host Minnesota State to wrap up the weekend series this Saturday.
