CCHA Players of the Week: Nov. 18-20

The CCHA is proud to recognize four student-athletes and its Players of the Week for the games of Nov. 18-20. Bowling Green's Coale Norris (Forward), Minnesota State's Jacob Livingstone (Defenseman) & Dryden McKay (Goaltender) and Northern Michigan's Oscar Geschwind took home this week’s honors.
 

CCHA Forward of the Week: Coale Norris, Sr., Bowling Green (Oxford, Mich.)

Coale Norris scored a team-high four points on thr weekend to help Bowling Green sweep Lake Superior State. Norris scored the Falcons' first goal, then assisted on their second. After the Lakers scored to cut BGSU's lead to 2-1, Norris scored his second goal of the night. The senior also assisted on Bowling Green's next score, helping the Falcons earn a series-opening win over LSSU. His total of four points is the highest in a single-game for any BGSU player this season.

 

CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Jacob Livingstone, So., Minnesota State (Creston, B.C.)

Jacob Livingstone registered five points on a goal and four assists as #3 Minnesota State claimed a league sweep over St. Thomas last weekend. He had a goal and two assists in Thursday's 9-0 home win over the Tommies. He contributed a pair of assists in Saturday's 5-0 victory. Has 15 points (4G, 11A) on the season and stands tied for third in the nation in scoring by defenseman.

 

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Dryden McKay, Sr., Minnesota State (Downers Grove, Ill.) 

Dryden McKay was perfect on the weekend in backstopping #3 Minnesota State to a pair of CCHA wins over St. Thomas. He recorded shutouts in both games, having 13 saves in last Thursday's 9-0 home win over the Tommies and turned aside nine shots in Saturday's 5-0 victory.  He has five shutouts and the season and has extended the NCAA Division I men's hockey career shutout record to 29 games.

 

CCHA Rookie of the Week: Oscar Geschwind, Fr., Northern Michigan (Karlstad, Sweden)

Geschwind tallied his first collegiate point with the primary assist on Vincent de Mey's second period goal. He then followed it up with another assist on the eventual game-winning goal just minutes into the third period of Friday night's game for the first multi-point game of his career. Geschwind scored his first collegiate goal in Saturday's game against the Bulldogs, finding the back of the net at 17:16 of the second period to give his team the 5-3 lead. He fired four shots on net and boasted a team-best plus-five on-ice rating over the two game weekend in Big Rapids.
