CCHA Players of the Week: Nov. 23-27

The CCHA is proud to recognize four student-athletes and its Players of the Week for the games of Nov. 23-27. Michigan Tech's Tristan Ashbrook (Forward), Bemidji State's Elias Rosén (Defenseman), Lake Superior State's Ethan Langenegger (Goaltender) and Minnesota State's Tanner Edwards (Rookie) took home this week’s honors.

 



CCHA Forward of the Week: Tristan Ashbrook, Jr., Michigan Tech (Manistique, MI)

Michigan Tech junior forward Tristan Ashbrook scored four goals in the weekend CCHA sweep of Ferris State. The native of Manistique, Mich. had a pair of goals each night. He scored the game-winning goal in the third period Friday and had a power-play goal each night. Ashbrook is currently on a four-game point streak with six goals and two assists. He ranks second on the team with seven goals.

 

CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Elias Rosén, Jr., Bemidji State (Mora, Sweden)

Bemidji State junior defenseman Elias Rosén recorded three points on the week, netting his first goal of the season while adding two assists in a nonconference road series at Arizona State, Nov. 24 and 26. He recorded his first multi-assist game of the season posting two helpers in a 4-3 victory to open the series versus the Sun Devils, which included an assist on the power play. He added a power-play goal in Friday's 6-4 loss. In all, he has a hand in two of the Beavers' three power-play goals on the weekend for a unit that went 3-for-5 in the series.

 

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Ethan Langenegger, So., Lake Superior State (Kamloops, B.C.)

Lake Superior State sophomore goaltender Ethan Langenegger backstopped the Lakers to a split against the No. 1 ranked Minnesota State Mavericks this weekend. On Friday, Nov. 26, Langenegger earned his first career shutout as he blanked the top team in the nation as the Lakers skated to a 1-0 win. The Laker goaltender stopped all 22 shots he faced in the game as he became the first goaltender to shutout the Mavericks during the 2021-22 season. The Kamloops, B.C. native followed with another 22 save effort on Saturday night as the Lakers fell to the Mavericks by a final score of 3-0. Langenegger finished the weekend with a 1.50 goals against average and a .936 save percentage against the nation's top ranked team.

 

CCHA Rookie of the Week: Tanner Edwards, Fr., Minnesota State (Anchorage, AK)

Minnesota State freshman forward Tanner Edwards recorded his first collegiate goal in his first weekend of NCAA Division I play this past week at Lake Superior State. He finished with a plus-one rating and one shot on goal, including 50-percent in the face-off circle.
