Mankato, Minn. - Minnesota State forward Todd Burgess has signed with Manitoba of the American Hockey League.
Burgess, who skated one season with the Mavericks, registered five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 25 games as Minnesota State rolled to a Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season championship, a NCAA West Region championship and for the first time in program history, an appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four in 2020-21.
For his four-year college career, the Phoeniz, Ariz., native, who spent three seasons at Rensselaer (ECAC) prior to coming to Minnesota State as a graduate transfer, totalled 27 goals and 35 assists for 62 points in 127 games played.
Selected by Ottawa in the fourth round, 103rd overall, of the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Burgess signed with Manitoba as a free agent.
