NMU's Contois hired in Youngstown

Youngstown, Ohio - The Youngstown Phantoms hired Andy Contois as our Associate Head Coach.  Andy brings his coaching experience with the Indy Fuel of the ECHL (2019-2021), the Central Illinois Flying Aces of the USHL (2017-2019) and the Brookings Blizzard of the NAHL to us in Youngstown.

Andy played Division 1 college hockey at Northern Michigan University and also had a 9 year professional career as a player.

Contois expresses, “I am very happy and honored to join the Youngstown Phantoms organization.  First, I would like to thank the owners Mr. Gunty and Mr. Zoldan for the opportunity. I am excited to work with Ryan Kosecki and Jason Deskins in their emphasis and approach to player development as well as their vision of developing long term success for the Phantoms.  I am equally excited to work and learn from Head Coach Brad Patterson.  Having coached against him in the USHL, I know his teams are well coached and prepared to compete every night.  I look forward to being a part of developing players both on and off the ice for the next level and helping to bring a championship to Youngstown.”

"We are ecstatic to have Andy join our coaching staff as the Associate Head coach.  Andy brings vast coaching experience from the pro-ranks and within the USHL.  He is a forward thinker and values the same philosophies and identity that we want to instill in our program.  We are excited to work with Andy and know he will bring his very best each day to achieve our process driven goals in Youngstown. Our players are very fortunate to have him with our program.  We can’t wait to get started”, Deskins states.
