Ferris State announces dressing room renovations

Headed into the upcoming season in the reconstituted CCHA, the Ferris State University Hockey program has announced renovation plans to upgrade the Division I locker room complex.

“After creating an upgraded Strength and Conditioning Room, and Nutrition Center (the Sarah Collins Room) within our hockey complex area, we are excited to get started on the main locker room upgrades," said Ferris State University Head Hockey Coach Bob Daniels. "As with the Strength and Conditioning room, and Nutrition Center, our plan is to create a space that will benefit our student athlete’s development and enhance our state of the art facilities. I would like to thank the many donors who have helped to make this renovation possible. Including the Ferris State Blueline Club who made a generous gift to this project. I would also like to thank our partner, Dimensional Design, for their creativity in creating a design that will update our locker room to a more contemporary look while also improving its functionality, Ferris State Project Manager Karen Simmon, former Physical Plant Associate Vice President Mike Hughes, and our new Associate Vice President for Facilities Management, Chad Stirrett.”

This comes after Ferris State announced in February that the University officially approved a $15.3 million upgrade to the Bulldogs' athletic facilities. The university's Board of Trustees recently approved the renovation and construction project, which will include a new and expanded strength and conditioning space, a new multipurpose arena and competition space for the volleyball program and practice area for other sports, additional and renovated locker room facilities along with team meeting spaces. Further, the project features a new connector and entrance to athletic facilities and renovations to offices and the sports medicine area.

The upgrades will offer championship-caliber training and conditioning facilities to the nearly 400 Bulldog student-athletes and 17 varsity programs.
