Friday Highlights: BSU, BGSU, MSU & NMU post wins

Number-one ranked Minnesota State posted a commanding 7-1 victory over Ferris State, Bemidji State won 5-1 over the visiting Lake Superior State Lakers, Bowling Green earned a 4-2 road victory at St. Thomas and Northern Michigan doubled Colgate 4-2 in non-conference action.

Minnesota State defenseman Wyatt Aamodt recorded a hat-trick, Nathan Smith tallied one goal and two assists and Dryden McKay made 16 saves on 17 Ferris State shots in the 7-1 MSU victory.

Bemidji State outshot Lake Superior State 51-29 to win 5-1 over Lake Superior State, Lukas Sillinger recorded a three-point night (2G, 1A) and Mattias Sholl earned the victory with 28 saves for Bemidji State. Lake Superior State's Ethan Langenegger made 46 saves.

At St. Thomas, it was a 2-2 game until the 7:24 mark of the third period, when Bowling Green's Taylor Schneider scored the game-winning goal. Kimball Johnson and Cameron Recchi both scored for St. Thomas.

In non-conference play, Northern Michigan outshot Colgate 38-28 in the 4-2 victory.Trevor Cosgrove recorded three points (2G, 1A) against his former club, Joseph Nardi tallied a goal and an assist and Rico DiMatteo made 26 saves on 28 shots.

Michigan Tech is the lone CCHA team with the weekend off.
