Saturday Highlights: BSU, MSU & NMU Sweep

Number-one nationally ranked Minnesota State is the first in the nation to 20 wins on the season and is now on a nine-game winning-streak after posting a weekend sweep over Ferris State, Bemidji State swept Lake Superior State on home-ice, Bowling Green needed overtime to top St. Thomas Saturday, and Northern Michigan posted a non-conference sweep over the Colgate Raiders. 

For the second consecutive night, Minnesota State scored seven goals on Ferris State. Nathan Smith tallied his second three-point night (1G, 2A) of the weekend and Dryden McKay earned his nation-leading eighth shutout on the season.

Alex Ierullo recorded three assists and Mattias Sholl earned the victory between-the-pipes for Bemidji State. Miroslav Mucha scored the lone goal for Lake Superior State.

It took overtime for the Falcons but Bowling Green's Alex Barber scored just 17 seconds into the extra frame to earn BGSU 5-of-6 points on the weekend. Matthew Jennings scored first for St. Thomas.

Northern Michigan's AJ Vanderbeck posted an impressive four-point night, scoring once and adding three assists in Saturday night's non-conference victory over Colgate. Hank Crone notced three points (2G, 1A) and Ben Newhouse recorded three helpers.
