Weekend Preview: Full Slate Ahead

All eight CCHA teams hit the ice this weekend, including two conference series. Bowling Green returns from a weekend off to take on No. 8 Minnesota State, while St. Thomas heads east for the second straight week, traveling to Ferris State as both teams open their league schedule. In non-conference action, Bemidji State faces No. 2 St. Cloud State in a home-and-home series, beginning on Friday at Sanford Center.

A pair of 400-win coaches square off in the CCHA-opening weekend for both teams, when the Tommies visit the Bulldogs for a pair this weekend. The series, which began in 2021-22, is split 2-2-0, with both teams earning a win at home and on the road. St. Thomas won the most recent meeting, 4-3, in Big Rapids last January.

Coming a five-point CCHA weekend at Michigan Tech, the Beavers take on white-hot St. Cloud State in a home-and-home series this weekend. The second-ranked Huskies visit Sanford Center on Friday, before the series shifts to St. Cloud on Saturday. Friday will be the 103rd meeting between the two programs, with SCSU holding a narrow 49-46-7 lead.

The Lakers' homestand continues with another non-league matchup as Clarkson comes to town for a pair. The previous 12 meetings have been split, 6-6-0, with the Golden Knights taking the most recent meeting, 2-1, in 2010. Lake Superior State will look to rebound from a sweep at the hands of then-No. 5 Michigan last weekend.

The Huskies take a break from CCHA play to welcome St. Lawrence to MacInnes Student Ice Arena for a two-game series this weekend. Michigan Tech owns a 7-3-2 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to 1960. The two teams split their most recent meeting in Canton, N.Y., during the 2011-12 season.
