CCHA Players of the Week: November 11-12

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games of November 11-12 and four student-athletes from three different programs. Ryan O’Hara (Bowling Green) earned Forward of the Week, while Will Zmolek (Bemidji State) and Mattias Sholl (Bemidji State) were the Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week, respectively. Joey Larson (Northern Michigan) was selected as the Rookie of the Week.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Ryan O’Hara, So., Bowling Green (Oakville, Ont.) 
 
O’Hara led the Falcons to a weekend sweep of St. Thomas, recording a league-best three points on a goal and two assists. He had a power-play goal on Friday, scoring on a redirect to break a 1-1 tie, before assisting on an Ethan Scardina tally. The following night, he had an assist on Austen Swankler's game-winning goal and was +1 for the weekend with a blocked shot. 
 
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Will Zmolek, Sr., Bemidji State (Rochester, Minn.) 
 
Zmolek helped Bemidji State to a road split at Northern Michigan, picking up a goal and an assist to lead all CCHA defensemen with two points. He scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-1 victory and was tied for the team lead by going +2 on the weekend with two blocked shots. 
 
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Mattias Sholl, So., Bemidji State (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) 
 
Sholl started both games between the pipes in the Beavers' series split at Northern Michigan, going 1-1-0 with a 1.01 goals-against average and a league-best .967 save percentage. He allowed only two goals, while making 58 total saves in 118:51 of action. He turned aside 33-of-34 shots in the Beavers 2-0 loss on Friday night, before stopping 25-of-26 shots on Saturday to earn his third win of the season. 
 
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Joey Larson, Fr., Northern Michigan (Brighton, Mich.) 
 
Larson paced all CCHA rookies with two points on a goal and an assist in the Wildcats’ weekend split with Bemidji State. He assisted on the eventual game-winning goal in Friday night’s 2-0 victory over the Beavers, before netting his team’s only goal in a 4-1 defeat on Saturday. For the weekend, he was even with a league-best nine shots on goal.
