CCHA Players of the Week: November 4-5

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games of November 4-5 and four student-athletes from two different programs have been recognized. Minnesota State’s David Silye, Andy Carroll and Luc Wilson garnered Forward, Defenseman and Rookie of the Week, respectively, while Bowling Green’s Christian Stoever earned Goaltender of the Week honors.

CCHA Forward of the Week: David Silye, Jr., Minnesota State (Amprior, Ont.) 
 
Silye paced all CCHA skaters with five goals in two games last week, including a natural hat trick in a span of 10:25 of the first period on Saturday, in a 4-3 victory over St. Thomas. He also netted a pair of goals on Friday in the Mavericks’ 7-2 road win against the Tommies. For the weekend, he notched three power-play goals and seven shots, with a 56.4% face-off winning percentage. 

   
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Andy Carroll, Sr., Minnesota State (Northfield, Minn.) 
 
Carroll recorded three assists for three points, a shot on goal and was a +1 with two blocked shots over the course of two league wins over St. Thomas last weekend. One of his three helpers set up Ondrej Pavel's game-winning goal on Friday in Minnesota State’s 7-2 road win over the Tommies.  

   
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Christian Stoever, So., Bowling Green (Northville, Mich.) 
 
Stoever went 1-1-0 with a 2.05 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage in two CCHA games last week, helping Bowling Green to a split with Michigan Tech. Making a league-high 71 saves in 117:17 minutes, he recorded 35 stops on Friday and 36 on Saturday, aiding the Falcons to a 6-1 win over the Huskies.  

   
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Luc Wilson, Fr., Minnesota State (Duncan, B.C.) 
 
Wilson erupted for his first five collegiate points last week, including his first goal and four assists. He was a +1 with four shots on the weekend and his four helpers were the most among all CCHA players. Scoring his first collegiate goal with two assists in Minnesota State’s 7-2 victory over St. Thomas on Friday, he followed that up with two more assists on Saturday in a 4-3 win.
