CCHA Players of the Week: Feb. 1-5

The CCHA is proud to recognize four student-athletes and its Players of the Week for the games of Feb. 1-5. Bemidji State's Elias Rosén (Defenseman), Michigan Tech's Tommy Parrottino (Forward), Minnesota State's Dryden McKay (Goaltender) and Northern Michigan's Charlie Glockner (Rookie) took home this week’s honors.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Tommy Parrottino, Sr., Michigan Tech (Rochester Hills, Mich.)

Michigan Tech forward Tommy Parrottino led the Huskies to a 2-0-1 record last week. He scored four goals in the three games and added two assists.  Parrottino scored the game-winning goals in a 5-1 victory over NMU Tuesday and in a 2-0 victory at St. Thomas Saturday. He has scored in four straight games and is on a five-game point streak with five goals and five assists. Parrottino has 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) in 26 games this season, including three game-winning goals.
 


CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Elias Rosén, Jr., Bemidji State (Mora, Sweden)

Bemidji State defenseman Elias Rosén finished tied for the team lead with four points (1G, 3A) to help the Beavers earn a series split with Northern Michigan this past weekend. Rosén recorded all four points in Saturday's 5-3 victory over the Wildcats for a career-high single game point total. He factored in on four of the Beavers' five goals on Saturday which were all on the power play and scored the game-winning overtime goal Saturday with just 2:57 left to play.

 

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Dryden McKay, Sr., Minnesota State (Downers Grove, Ill.)

Minnesota State Goaltender Dryden McKay earned a 2-0-0 record with a 0.50 GAA and a .979 save percentage in a two-game road sweep at Bowling Green last weekend. McKay made 46 saves on 47 shots over the weekend, stopping 27 of 28 shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Falcons.  He turned aside all 19 shots he faced in Saturday's 5-0 win for his ninth shutout of the season, extending his NCAA Division I men's hockey career shutouts record to 33. McKay now stands 27-4-0 on the season with a 1.27 goals against average and .932 save percentage.

 

CCHA Rookie of the Week: Charlie Glockner, Fr., Northern Michigan (Minnetonka, Minn.)

Northern Michigan freshman goaltender Charlie Glockner made a career-high of 44 saves against Michigan Tech last Tuesday and posted a road victory against BSU on Friday with 24 saves. Glockner saved 73 shots over the course of the week earning him a save percentage of .912.
