Men's Ice Hockey 3/1/2022 2:24:27 PM CCHA Players of the Month: February 2022 The CCHA is proud to recognize four student-athletes and its Players of the Month for the month of February. Bemidji State's Elias Rosen (Defenseman), Michigan Tech's Brian Halonen (Forward), Lake Superior State's Ethan Langenegger (Co-Goaltender) & Minnesota State's Dryden McKay (Co-Goaltender) and Northern Michigan's Charlie Glockner (Rookie) took home the honors for February. CCHA Forward of the Month: Brian Halonen, Sr., Michigan Tech (Delano, Minn.) Michigan Tech senior forward Brian Halonen led MTU with six goals during the month of February. He added eight assists for 14 points and tallied 45 shots on goal with a +9 rating. Halonen had points in nine of the 10 games, including four multi-point games. He became the 67th player in Tech history to reach the 100 point mark for his career on February 11 and was named MVP of the annual Winter Carnival series on February 12. CCHA Defenseman of the Month: Elias Rosen, Jr., Bemidji State (Mora, Sweden) Bemidji State junior defenseman Elias Rosen led the Beavers in scoring during the month with eight points off two goals and six assists. He posted two three-point games during the month on Feb. 5 and Feb. 26. Rosen averaged an assist per game and 1.33 points per game. He won 79 of 140 face-offs for a face-off win percentage of .564 and posted 22 shots on goal and was +1 on the ice. CCHA Co-Goaltender of the Month: Ethan Langenegger, So., Lake Superior State (Kamloops, B.C.) Lake Superior State sophomore goaltender Ethan Langenegger backstopped the Lakers in the month of February to a perfect 3-0-0 record in his three starts. Langenegger recorded a 0.67 goals against average (GAA) and a .972 save percentage (SAV%). He opened the month with his third shutout of the season in the team’s 4-0 win over the Ferris State Bulldogs on Feb. 12. The Kamloops, B.C. native stopped all 20 shots he faced in the win. He played a key role in leading his team to clinch a fourth-place finish in the CCHA standings to secure home-ice headed into the playoffs. CCHA Co-Goaltender of the Month: Dryden McKay, Sr., Minnesota State (Downers Grove, Ill.) Minnesota State senior goaltender Dryden McKay recorded a perfect 6-0-0 record and one shutout through six games in February. He posted a 0.83 GAA and a .965 SAV%, making 138 saves on 143 shots. CCHA Rookie of the Month: Charlie Glockner, Fr., Northern Michigan (Minnetonka, Minn.) Northern Michigan Freshman goaltender Charlie Glockner boasted four wins this month. He recorded a 2.28 GAA and a .923 SAV%. Glockner made 191 saves throughout the month. 44 of them coming from the Feb. 1 game against Michigan Tech, which was a career-high.
