Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's ice hockey captain Liam MacDougall, holder of the "C" for the past two seasons, has inked a professional deal with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones.
MacDougall's five-year Bulldog career ran 145 games, most amongst active Bulldogs. This past season, he was Ferris State's fourth leading scorer, posting career highs in goals (6), assists (11) and point (17).
The Windsor native tied for the team lead in game-winning tallies with a pair, fired 69 shots on goal, and was one of Ferris State's best plus-minus performers as a strong two was presence at the top of the Bulldog line up.
The Cyclones are currently fourth in the ECHL's Central Division, two points back of the third place Wheeling Nailers. The Cyclones have Bulldog alum Jason Tackett currently on their roster as well.
Cincinatti takes on Wheeling tomorrow Friday (March 11) at US Bank Arena, where Ferris State played the 2014 NCAA Regional Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight. Game time is set for 7:30 pm ET.
The Cincinnati Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres.
