McKay named National Goaltender of the Month

Minnesota State senior goaltender Dryden McKay has been named the Hockey Commissioners’ Association’s Men’s National Goaltender of the Month for the months of March and April.
 
McKay posted an undefeated 7-0-0 record in the months of March and April until the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey National Championship game. He was rewarded with the prestigious Hobey Baker Award as college hockey's top player for the season.

McKay posted a 1.28 goals against average (GAA), a .933 save percentage (SAV%) and added one more shutout in March & April to record an impressive 10 shutouts on the season. He helped Minnesota State win the CCHA Mason Cup Playoff Championship and led his team all the way to the national championship game.
 
Denver’s sophomore defenseman Mike Benning was tabbed HCA Men’s National Player of the Month for March and April, while Michigan's freshman defenseman Luke Hughes earned Men’s National Rookie of the Month.

The CCHA finished the season with the third most national awards by conference with four players this recognized this year: Atlantic, 1; Big Ten, 6; CCHA, 4; ECAC, 2; HEA, 1; NCHC, 6.
