CCHA Media Day Set for September 21

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) announced today that the league’s media day will take place next Wednesday, September 21, 2021, beginning at 10am CT / 11am ET.  

Along with CCHA Commissioner Don Lucia and CCHA Director of Officiating Kevin Langseth, all eight CCHA Head Coaches will preview the upcoming season and be available to answer questions from local, regional and national media outlets virtually, via Zoom. 

The CCHA Preseason Coaches’ Poll and CCHA preseason accolades, including the CCHA Preseason All-Conference Team will be released on Monday, Sep. 19. 

Below is the complete schedule for the 2022 CCHA Media Day: 

  • 10 AM CT / 11 AM ET: Welcome, Perry Laskaris and CCHA Commissioner Don Lucia 

  • 10:05 AM CT / 11:05 AM ET: CCHA Director of Officiating Kevin Langseth 

  • 10:10 AM CT / 11:10 AM ET: Bemidji State’s Tom Serratore ? 

  • 10:20 AM CT / 11:20 AM ET: Bowling Green State’s Ty Eigner 

  • 10:30 AM CT / 11:30 AM ET: Ferris State’s Bob Daniels 

  • 10:40 AM CT / 11:40 AM ET: Lake Superior State’s Damon Whitten 

  • 10:50 AM CT / 11:50 AM ET: Michigan Tech’s Joe Shawhan 

  • 11:00 AM CT / 12:00 PM ET: Minnesota State’s Mike Hastings

This year’s CCHA Media Day will be open to questions from media only but will be recorded and posted on ccha.tv, providing fans the opportunity to watch each coach’s time block on-demand. 

The CCHA officially drops the puck on year two of the reconfigured league on Saturday, Oct. 1. Six CCHA teams will be in action with one league contest, three non-conference games and one exhibition scheduled. The first full weekend of conference action will be Nov. 4-5.
