The 2022-23 season gets underway with seven of eight CCHA teams in action over 10 games this weekend. Bowling Green and No. 20 Northern Michigan highlight the slate, as the pair battle for points in the conference standings right off the bat.

The lone conference series of the weekend gets underway on Saturday at 6:07pm ET in Marquette, Mich. The Wildcats, who were picked second in the CCHA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, look to defend home ice against a Falcons team that is looking to climb from a sixth-place finish in 2021-22. The weekend series concludes on Sunday (6:07pm ET).

The Bulldogs and Redhawks meet for the 109th time on Saturday (5:05pm ET) at Goggin Ice Center in Oxford, Ohio. Ferris State holds a narrow 47-45-16 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to November 16, 1979. The two teams split last season’s series in Big Rapids. Game Two of the series gets underway at 3:05pm ET on Sunday.

The defending MacNaughton Cup and Mason Cup Champions, No. 3 Minnesota State opens its 2022-23 schedule with an exhibition game at Nebraska Omaha on Saturday (6:07pm CT). In games that count, the Mavericks from Minnesota own an 18-16-5 lead in the all-time series.

The Tommies begin their second season as full-fledged Division I members with a home-and-home series against 13th-ranked St. Cloud State, beginning on Saturday in Mendota Heights, Minn. (6:07pm CT). The series flips to St. Cloud on Sunday (4pm CT). The Huskies swept a two-game series to open last season, winning 2-0 and 12-2 – the only previous meetings between the two programs.
