Swankler Tabbed National Player of the Month

Bowling Green sophomore forward Austen Swankler has been named the Hockey Commissioners’ Association’s Men’s Player of the Month for the month of December.

Swankler paced all CCHA skaters with 15 points in seven December contests, scoring six goals and assisting on nine more. Recording at least one point in his last 12 appearances dating back to November 5, he was even with one power play and one game-winning tally last month.

Producing five multi-point games during the month, including a season-high three points on three occasions, Swankler helped the Falcons to a record of 4-3-0 in contests that he featured. For the season he has 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points, ranking fourth nationally in both goals and points.

Long Island University freshman Patriks Marcinkevicks was named the HCA Men's National Rookie of the Month for December, while Alaska senior Matt Radomsky earned National Goaltender of the Month honors.

This is the first national award for a CCHA player this season after collecting four last year.
