CCHA Forward & Rookie of the Week: Tanner Latsch, R-Fr., Northern Michigan (Twin Lake, Mich.)
Latsch scored an NCAA Division I-best five goals last week, including a hat trick in his first collegiate game – a 5-5 tie at Minnesota Duluth on Friday night. He then scored twice and added an assist in an 8-5 loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday. Four of his tallies came on the power play and his nine shots on goal were the most on the Wildcats and third-most in the CCHA.
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Josh Zinger, So., Northern Michigan (Red Deer, Alb.)
Zinger paced all CCHA skaters with four assists last week and led all conference defensemen with four assists. Highlighted by a three-helper game against Minnesota Duluth on Friday (a 5-5 tie), he was even for the weekend and totaled four shots on goal with three blocks at the defensive end of the ice. He was also assessed one minor penalty for two minutes.
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Alex Tracy, So., Minnesota State (Chicago, Ill.)
Tracy went 2-0-0 with a CCHA-best 1.46 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage, which was good for second among conference netminders. Stopping 50 of the 53 shots he faced on the weekend against No. 9/10 St. Cloud State, he made 21 stops in a 3-2 victory on Friday night, before turning away a career-high 29 in a 5-1 win on Saturday.
