Weekend Preview: The Interstate

Three CCHA series highlight the weekend, with two featuring in-state rivalries. Bemidji State travels to Minnesota State, while Ferris State heads up to take on Michigan Tech. Elsewhere, Bowling Green visits Sault Ste. Marie to face Lake Superior State. Completing the full Upper Peninsula action, Northern Michigan hosts Alaska in non-league play.

The Bulldogs and Huskies are tied in the CCHA standings entering the weekend as the in-state series turns to "The Mac" for a two-game set. Michigan Tech owns a 31-17-3 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to 1982. Tech has been even better at home, sporting a 16-6-1 mark.

Coming off a five-point weekend, the Wildcats take a break from CCHA play to welcome the red-hot Nanooks to Marquette for a two-game series. The Wildcats are 18-10-2 against Alaska, going back to 2012, including a split of a series last season. The Nanooks have won five straight games, including a victory over St. Cloud State.

The Beavers head to in-state rival Minnesota State for two this weekend. The Beavers turned in the largest comeback in program history last Saturday against Michigan Tech, salvaging three points on the weekend, while the Mavericks took five points on the road from Ferris State. This weekend's action marks the 144th and 145th meetings between the two programs, with the Mavs leading 67-60-16.
