CCHA Forward of the Week: Ryland Mosley, Sr., Michigan Tech (Arnprior, Ont.) Â
Â
Mosley led the Huskies to their first-ever road sweep of Minnesota State last week, scoring two goals, including the overtime-winning tally on Friday night. For the week, he notched one power-play goal and nine shots on target, which were both good for second among CCHA skaters. Blocking three shots at the defensive end of the ice, he played an integral part in Michigan Tech’s penalty kill, which went 3-for-3 on the weekend.
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Matthew Campbell, So., Michigan Tech (North Vancouver, B.C.)Â
Â
Campbell aided Michigan Tech to its first-ever road sweep of Minnesota State last week, dishing out a pair of assists, while posting a +3, which was good for third among all conference skaters. He was also fourth in shots on goal (8), while blocking two defensively. He notched the primary assist on the Huskies’ overtime-winner on Friday night, before setting up the third-period go-ahead goal in Saturday’s 3-2 regulation-time victory.
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Beni Halasz, So., Northern Michigan (Budapest, Hungary)Â
Â
Halasz stopped all 30 shots he faced in a 2-0 road shutout win at Bowling Green on Saturday night. He helped the Wildcats rebound from a 6-2 defeat on Friday, making 12 saves in the first period, 10 in the second and eight in the third. He turned away the only two shots he saw while Northern Michigan was shorthanded, aiding a perfect 3-for-3 penalty kill on the night. The shutout was his first of the year and fourth of his career.
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Brody Waters, Fr., Bowling Green (Heidelberg, Ont.)Â
Â
Waters led all conference rookies with two goals last week, helping the Falcons to a split with Northern Michigan. Recording his first collegiate multi-goal game on Friday, he led the Falcons to a 6-2 victory, posting a +2 rating in the process. After opening scoring, he netted the tying tally in the third period that sparked a five-goal outburst. On Saturday, he was even with one shot in a 2-0 loss to the Wildcats.
