The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Month for November and four student-athletes from four different programs have been recognized. Jared Westcott (Lake Superior State) and Kyle Looft (Bemidji State) both repeated as Forward and Defenseman of the Month, respectively, while Aaron Trotter (St. Thomas) captured the Tommies’ second Goaltender of the Month honor this year. Isaac Gordon (Michigan Tech) was the league’s Rookie of the Month.

CCHA Forward of the Month: Jared Westcott, Sr., Lake Superior State (Imperial, Mo.)
Westcott paced all CCHA skaters in goals (7), points (14), points per game (1.75) and multi-point games (5), helping the Lakers to a 4-4-0 overall mark. He ranked second in assists (7) and goals per game (0.88), third in assists per game (0.88) and fourth in shots (26). Finishing at +2 for the month, he recorded one power-play goal and one game-winning tally. He put together a four-game point streak, totaling seven goals and four assists during the stretch. Third nationally with 22 points on the year, he ranks second in goals (12) and 35th in assists (10).
CCHA Defenseman of the Month: Kyle Looft, 5th, Bemidji State (Mankato, Minn.)
Looft was second overall and first among CCHA defensemen in points (11) during the month of November, registering three goals and a league-high eight assists. Averaging 1.38 points per contest, he was even over the Beavers’ eight contests, collecting 24 shots on goal, which was second only to teammate Eric Pohlkamp by league blueliners. Opening the month with a four-game points streak in which he notched three goals and four assists for seven points, he totaled six blocks at the defensive end of the ice. On the year, he has five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 14 games.
CCHA Goaltender of the Month: Aaron Trotter, So., St. Thomas (Victoria, B.C.)
Trotter went 3-0-0 in November with league-bests in goals-against average (1.67), save percentage (.947) and saves per game (30.0). He turned away 90-of-95 shots over his three starts, allowing just a single even-strength tally. He earned victories over Northern Michigan, Bowling Green and Lake Superior State, highlighted by a 42-save outing against the Falcons on November 10, helping the Tommies to a 4-1 road win. On the year, he is 4-3-1 with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage with one shutout.
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Isaac Gordon, Fr., Michigan Tech (Landmark, Man.)
Gordon led all CCHA rookies in goals (7), points (9), power-play goals (2), multi-point games (2) and hat tricks (1). He was second in shots (23) and shooting percentage (30.4%). For the month, he was a +3 and his season-best four-point game (3 goals, 1 assist) on November 3 against Augustana was the most by a rookie and matched only by teammate Arvid Caderoth (2 goals, 2 assists) at Bemidji State on November 10 as the most by any conference skater during the month. For the season, he has eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 15 contests.
