The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games on December 8-9 and four student-athletes from four different programs have been recognized. Carter Jones (Bemidji State) was tabbed the Forward of the Week, while Travis Shoudy (Ferris State) collected Defenseman of the Week honors. Cole Moore (Bowling Green) earned Goaltender of the Week honors and John Herrington (Lake Superior State) was the Rookie of the Week for the second time.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Carter Jones, 5th, Bemidji State (Hillyard, Wash.)
Jones helped the Beavers to a split of their weekend series with Lake Superior State, recording a league-high four points on three goals and one assist. Posting a conference-best +4 on the week, he registered two goals and an assist in a 7-1 Bemidji State win on Friday, night, before netting the Beavers’ only tally in a 6-1 defeat on Saturday. Collecting four shots in the series, he also had one block at the defensive end.
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Travis Shoudy, So., Ferris State (Marysville, Mich.)
Shoudy paced all CCHA blueliners with three points on a goal and two assists. Even on the weekend, he anchored the Bulldogs defensive core in a 1-0 defeat at Bowling Green on Friday night, recording four shots on goal. He then had a hand in all three Ferris State goals in a 4-3 loss on Saturday, scoring the team’s first goal, before setting up the next two, which tied the game at 3-3 at the time. He finished with three shots on goal in the contest for a total of seven on the week – the second-most among league defensemen.
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Cole Moore, Fr., Bowling Green (Toronto, Ont.)
Moore went 2-0-0 with a 1.51 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage last week, leading the Falcons to their first sweep of the season. He stopped all 39 shots he faced to earn his first collegiate shutout on Friday in a 1-0 victory over Ferris State. He then turned away 34-of-37 attempts on Saturday in a 4-3 victory. For the weekend, he made eight saves while Bowling Green was shorthanded, helping the penalty kill go 5-for-6.
CCHA Rookie of the Week: John Herrington, Fr., Lake Superior State (Edmonton, Alb.)
Herrington led all CCHA rookies with three points last week, netting one goal and assisting on two more. He was +2 in the Lakers’ series split at Bemidji State, totaling four shots on goal. On Friday, he scored Lake Superior State’s only goal in a 7-1 defeat. He then dished out a pair of helpers in a 6-1 victory on Saturday, including one on the eventual game-winning tally.
