Friday Recap: Mason Cup Playoffs Begin

The CCHA postseason opened on Friday night with action across the league. Top-seed Minnesota State defeated eighth-seed Lake Superior State (6-1), while second-seed Michigan Tech used a late goal to edge seventh-seed St. Thomas (1-0). Fourth-seed Northern Michigan ran away from fifth-seed Bemidji State in the third period (7-3) and sixth-seed Ferris State was able to top third-seed Bowling Green in overtime (4-3).
