Saturday Recap: Sweep's The Word

All four Mason Cup Quarterfinal series ended on Saturday night as Friday night's winners were able to seal the deal. Top-seed Minnesota State needed a late goal from Ryan Sandelin to nip eighth-seed Lake Superior State (2-1), while second-seed Michigan Tech survived a last-ditch comeback effort from seventh-seed St. Thomas (5-4). Fourth-seed Northern Michigan edge out fifth-seed Bemidji State in overtime (2-1) and sixth-seed Ferris State was able to clinch with its second straight extra-session winner over third-seed Bowling Green (2-1).
