The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games on January 11-13 and four student-athletes from three different programs have been recognized. Josh Groll (Minnesota State) earned Forward of the Week honors, while Evan Bushy (Lake Superior State) collected both the Defenseman and Rookie of the Week awards. Jake Sibell (St. Thomas) was the conference’s Goaltender of the Week for the second time.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Josh Groll, Jr., Minnesota State (San Diego, Calif.)
Groll led all CCHA skaters with two goals and added an assist for three points in a home sweep of Ferris State, last weekend. Fourth in the league at +3, he notched one power-play tally and one game-winner, which came on Saturday night in a 4-0 victory. Also registering an assist in the contest, he scored on Friday night in a 4-2 Mavericks win. For the week, he totaled six shots on goal.
CCHA Defenseman and Rookie of the Week: Evan Bushy, Fr., Lake Superior State (Thief River Falls, Minn.)
Bushy paced all conference blueliners with two points last week, dishing out a pair of assists in a weekend sweep of Northern Michigan. Post a +2 rating, he assisted on the Lakers’ tying goal on Friday in a 5-1 victory, before setting up a third-period tally in a 5-2 win on Saturday night. For the weekend, he recorded two shots on goal and two blocks at the defensive end of the ice.
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Jake Sibell, Jr., St. Thomas (Isanti, Minn.)
Sibell turned away 27-of-28 shots in a 3-1 victory over Michigan Tech on Saturday night. He saved the only shot he faced while the Tommies were shorthanded, helping the team to a 2-for-2 penalty kill on the night. On the night, he made seven saves in the first period before registering 10 in each of the final two frames.
