CCHA Forward of the Week: Jack Works, Jr., Michigan Tech (Yellowknife, N.W.T.)

Works was named the Most Valuable Player of the 57th Great Lakes Invitational after netting a hat trick in the championship game on Friday night against No. 7 Michigan State. He netted a power play goal in the first period and a pair of tallies in the third period to lead the Huskies to their 12th GLI Title. For the season, he has 10 points with eight goals and two assists.

CCHA Defenseman and Rookie of the Week: Chase Pietila, Fr., Michigan Tech (Howell, Mich.)

Pietila was named to the Great Lakes Invitational All-Tournament Team after registering three assists in two contests for the Huskies. He set up the game-tying goal against Alaska in the semifinal, before delivering a helper on the overtime game-winner by his older brother Logan. He then assisted on the game-tying goal in the Championship Game against No. 7 Michigan State. He also helped the penalty-killing unit go 4-for-5 on the weekend.

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Blake Pietila, Sr., Michigan Tech (Howell, Mich.)

Pietila went 1-0-1 with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage last week and was named to the Great Lakes Invitational All-Tournament Team after backstopping the Huskies to their 12th title. The fifth-year goaltender made a career-high 54 saves in the GLI Championship Game and then stopped all three tries in the shootout by No. 7 Michigan State. Pietila also made 23 saves the day before in a 3-2 semifinal win over Alaska. He ranks ninth in the nation with 503 total saves this season.
