The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games on January 19-20 and four student-athletes from four different programs have been recognized. Lucas Sowder (Minnesota State) earned Forward of the Week honors, while Travis Shoudy (Ferris State) collected the Defenseman of the Week. Mattias Sholl (Bemidji State) was the conference’s Goaltender of the Week and Isaac Gordon (Michigan Tech) was the Rookie of the Week.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Lucas Sowder, Gr., Minnesota State (Tampa, Fla.) 

Sowder paced all CCHA skaters with four points on two goals and two assists last weekend, helping the Mavericks to a road split against Bowling Green. Posting an even rating for the week, he registered a goal and an assist in both contests, including a helper on the team's opening tally in a 4-1 victory on Saturday night. For the week, he totaled five shots on goal and had one block at the defensive end of the ice.

CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Travis Shoudy, So., Ferris State (Marysville, Mich.)

Shoudy led the Bulldogs to a weekend sweep of Lake Superior State, netting two goals and posting a CCHA-best +3 rating. On Friday, he scored a goal on four shots in a 5-3 home win over the Lakers. He then netted the overtime-winner in a 3-2 Ferris State triumph on the road on Saturday. For the weekend, he registered six shots on goal and blocked two defensively.

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Mattias Sholl, Jr., Bemidji State (Hermosa Beach, Calif.)

Sholl went 0-1-1 with a 1.95 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage, making a CCHA-best 74 saves to help Bemidji State to a pair of points at Michigan Tech, last weekend. He turned away 28 shots in a 2-1 loss to the Huskies on Friday, before stopping 46-of-48 in a 2-2 tie on Saturday, in which the Beavers won the shootout. Helping the BSU penalty kill to a 5-for-6 weekend, he saved 12-of-13 shots while shorthanded. 

CCHA Rookie of the Week: Isaac Gordon, Fr., Michigan Tech (Landmark, Man.)

Gordon helped Michigan Tech to a four-point weekend, picking up two points on a goal and an assist against Bemidji State. He scored the tying goal in a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Beavers on Saturday, before setting up the equalizing tally in the third period of a 2-2 tie on Saturday. For the weekend, he had five shots on goal.
