Friday Recap: There Can Only Be One

No. 16/18 Minnesota State claimed the opening game of its series with Maverick-rivals No. 16/19 Omaha, while Ferris State topped Bemidji State in the CCHA's first conference action. Elsewhere, Michigan Tech suffered its first loss of the year to Clarkson, Northern Michigan fell at home to Arizona State and Augstana hung with No. 12/14 St. Cloud State, before dropping a one-goal decision. 

St. Thomas and Bowling Green each suffered road defeats in the first leg of home-and-home series with No. 5 Minnesota and 17/19 Ohio State, respectively.
