Weekend Preview: Playoff Push

Important series with MacNaughton Cup implications get underway this weekend, including a Thursday-Friday matchup between Bemidji State and Ferris State. Hard-charging Bowling Green looks to stay hot at St. Thomas and Augustana visits Lake Superior State in non-league play.

The Bulldogs travel to Bemidji State for a Thursday-Friday series with the Beavers looking to keep pace in the MacNaughton Cup race. Sitting just three points back of Minnesota State and with two games in hand, Bemidji State has series with St. Thomas and the Mavericks remaining on the schedule. Ferris State saw its four-game winning streak snapped last weekend against Bowling Green.

Augustana finishes off its road schedule this weekend, when it visits Lake Superior State. The Lakers play their final two non-league games this weekend, before the home stretch in the CCHA. LSSU currently sits in sixth place, but is just two points out of a home-ice position. The Vikings are coming off a sweep of previously first-place St. Thomas.

The Tommies are one point out of first place, but have two games in hand with Minnesota State, while the Falcons are five points back. BGSU leads the all-time series 6-3-1, but the Tommies claimed a sweep in the most recent meeting.
