The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games on February 15-17 and four student-athletes from three different programs have been recognized. Jere Vaisanen (Bemidji State) was the league’s Forward of the Week, while Jack Blanchett (Lake Superior State) and Cole Moore (Bowling Green) were named Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week, respectively. Ben Doran (Bowling Green) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Jere Vaisanen, Jr., Bemidji State (Espoo, Finland)
Vaisanen paced all CCHA skaters with three points last week, scoring two goals and assisting on another, to help Bemidji State take 5-of-6 points from Ferris State last weekend. Posting a +2 rating, he had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime victory on Friday night, before tallying the final goal in a 4-1 win on Saturday. For the week, he totaled three shots on goal and won 52% (13-of-25) face-offs.
CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Jack Blanchett, Fr., Lake Superior State (Monroe, Mich.)
Blanchett scored the game-winning goal and was a +1 on Friday night in the Lakers’ 3-0 shutout of Augustana. For the week, he collected three shots on goal, as Lake Superior State split its two-game set with the Vikings.
CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Cole Moore, Fr., Bowling Green (Toronto, Ont.)
Moore went 1-0-1 with a 0.58 goals-against average and a .984 save percentage in 103:32 minutes of action last weekend. Coming on in relief on Friday night, he stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 3-3 tie at St. Thomas, helping the Falcons win in a shootout. Getting the start on Saturday, he made 30 saves in a 3-1 Bowling Green victory. Stopping 62-of-64 shots on the weekend, he turned away double-digit attempts in each of the second and third periods on both nights.
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Ben Doran, Fr., Bowling Green (Chesterfield, Mo.)
Doran recorded a goal and two assists for three points last week, helping Bowling Green take 5-of-6 points at St. Thomas. On Friday, he helped set up the game-tying goal in a 3-3 decision that the Falcons won in a shootout. He then assisted on the game-winning marker and added a shorthanded goal of his own in a 3-1 victory on Saturday night. For the weekend, he was a +2 with two shots on goal and one block at the defensive end of the ice.
