CCHA Players of the Week: March 8-10

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games on March 8-10 and four student-athletes from four different programs have been recognized. Connor Milburn (Lake Superior State) and Eric Pohlkamp (Bemidji State) were named Forward and Defenseman of the Week, respectively, while Alex Tracy (Minnesota State) was the Goaltender of the Week and Isaac Gordon (Michigan Tech) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Connor Milburn, So., Lake Superior State (Kamloops, B.C.) 

 
Milburn led the seventh-seeded Lakers to a Mason Cup Quarterfinal series victory at second-seeded St. Thomas last week, scoring three goals and assisting on two more for five points. One of his three tallies came shorthanded, when Lake Superior State was down 1-0 in Game 3. He was a +3 for the weekend, totaling 11 shots, he had multiple points in Games 1 and 3 of the series, including an assist on the series-clinching goal with 6.6 seconds left in regulation.

CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Eric Pohlkamp, Fr., Bemidji State (Brainerd, Minn.) 
 
Pohlkamp led the top-seeded Beavers to a Mason Cup Quarterfinal series sweep of eighth-seeded Ferris State last weekend, notching five points on three goals and two assists, to lead all CCHA defensemen. Two of his tallies came on the power play, while another was the overtime-winning goal in Game 1, which Bemidji State came back to win, 5-4. On Saturday, he scored twice in a 4-0 Beavers victory and totaled eight shots on goal and two blocks in the series.

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Alex Tracy, So., Minnesota State (Chicago, Ill.) 
 
Tracy went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage, which were both tops among CCHA netminders in the Mason Cup Quarterfinals. On Friday, he made 32 saves in a 2-1 victory over Northern Michigan in Game 1, before turning away 26-of-27 shots in a 6-1 win in Game 2 on Saturday.

CCHA Rookie of the Week: Isaac Gordon, Fr., Michigan Tech (Landmark, Man.) 
 
Gordon led third-seeded Michigan Tech to a sweep of sixth-seeded Bowling Green last weekend, scoring two goals with two assists for six points. Posting a +2 with one power play tally, he had a goal and two assists in each game of the series, as the Huskies won 5-0 and 6-5. He totaled 11 shots on goal, picking up six on Friday and five on Saturday.
