Men's Ice Hockey 4/23/2024 3:04:45 PM Nick Rappuhn, Augustana Athletic Communications Raboin Back on WJC Championship Bench for US COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Augustana hockey head coach Garrett Raboin has been named to the 2025 USA World Juniors staff, announced by USA Hockey Tuesday morning. This will be Raboin's second consecutive IIHF World Juniors tournament. The bench boss helped lead Team USA to gold in 2024 when the tournament was held in Gothenburg, Sweden. "I'm incredibly fortunate to have been invited to represent USA Hockey in Ottawa as we look to defend our title in 2025. It's a great honor, and I owe a special thanks to General Manager John Vanbiesbrouck, and Head Coach David Carle for this opportunity," Raboin said. The entire 2024 gold-medal staff is back for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships as Raboin will join the U.S. National Junior Team coaching staff that is led by head coach David Carle (Anchorage, Alaska/University of Denver) and includes assistant coaches Brett Larson (Duluth, Minn./St. Cloud State University), Steve Miller (Sun Prairie, Wis./University of Minnesota) and David Lassonde (Durham, N.H./USA Hockey), and video coach Travis Culhane (Kalamazoo, Mich./University of Denver). Team USA will play in the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship, December 26, 2024 - January 5, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario. The U.S. is in Group A alongside Finland, Canada, Latvia and Germany and will play its preliminary-round games at the Canadian Tire Centre. Augustana compiled an impressive record in its Inaugural Season with a record of 12-18-4. The Vikings accomplished many feats in its first season with three sellouts and its first-ranked win against Arizona State.
