Weekend Preview: Back in Business

Seven CCHA teams are in action this weekend, including a CCHA series between Bowling Green and Lake Superior State. Michigan Tech travels to Palm Springs, Calif., for the Cactus Cup, while Augustana visits No. 8 Colorado College and St. Thomas heads to Lindenwood. 

In exhibition play, Bemidji State hosts Manitoba University on Friday and Ferris State welcomes the US Under-18 Team to town on Saturday.

Bowling Green heads to Lake Superior State to get the second half underway in CCHA play this weekend, sitting fourth and fifth in the conference standings. The Falcons lead the all-time seriese 94-80-15, including taking 3-of-4 meetings last year. The two teams don't meet again until the last weekend of the year.

Coming off a third place finish at the Great Lakes Invitational, Michigan Tech heads west to play in the Cactus Cup and face No. 10 UMass Lowell on Friday, before taking on either UNO or Holy Cross. The Huskies and River Hawks have split their previous seven meetings, 3-3-1.

The Vikings and Tigers meet for the second and third time ever this weekend in Colorado Springs. Augustana topped CC, 4-3, last season. The eighth-ranked Tigers are out to their best start since 2009-10, while Augie could potentially match last year's win total with a sweep.

The Tommies head south to face Lindenwood in a two-game series this weekend. St. Thomas leads the all-time series 1-0-1, which began last year in Mendota Heights. This is the Tommies' final non-conference tune-up before the bulk of their CCHA schedule gets underway next weekend.
