CCHA Players of the Week: March 7-9

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for March 7-9 and four student-athletes from four different programs have been recognized. Liam Malmquist (St. Thomas) was the league's Forward of the Week, while Vince Corcoran (Bemidji State) earned Defenseman of the Week honors. Christian Stoever (Bowling Green) was the Goaltender of the Week and Logan Heroux (Ferris State) was the Rookie of the Week.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Liam Malmquist, Sr., St. Thomas (Edina, Minn.) 

 
Malmquist led CCHA skaters with six points last week, scoring five goals, including a hat trick, with one assist in a Mason Cup Quarterfinal sweep of Ferris State. Posting a +6 on the weekend, he had one shorthanded goal and one game-winner. He totaled nine shots on goal for the weekend, with two of his tallies coming a 7-3 win on Friday, before having a hand in all four Tommies goals in a 4-3 victory on Saturday.


CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Vince Corcoran, Jr., Bemidji State (Plainfield, Ill.) 
 
Corcoran paced CCHA blueliners with three points in the Mason Cup Quarterfinals, dishing out three helpers in seventh-seed Bemidji State's upset of second-seed Augustana in three games. He had four shots on goal and one block defensive, setting up two Beavers' tallies on Saturday in a 4-3 win. He then assisted on Bemidji State's tying goal in a 3-2 overtime victory on Sunday.

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Christian Stoever, Sr.. Bowling Green (Northfield, Mich.) 
 
Stoever went 2-0-0 with a 0.43 goals-against average and a .979 save percentage last week, leading the Falcons to Mason Cup Quarterfinal sweep of Michigan Tech. He turned away 47-of-48 shots in the series, playing 140:00 minutes. On Friday, he stopped 20 shots in a 2-1 overtime win, before recording a 27-save shutout on Saturday in a 4-0 victory.
 
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Logan Heroux, Fr., Ferris State (Middietown, N.J.) 
 
Heroux recorded a goal and an assist for two points last week, leading conference rookies in scoring. He was even in Ferris State's Mason Cup Quarterfinal loss at St. Thomas, with four shots on goal. Scoring a goal in the Bulldogs' 7-3 loss on Friday, he picked up a helper on Saturday, but Ferris State fell, 4-3.
