Tracy Voted a Finalist for Mike Richter Award

The Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) has announced four finalists for the 2025 Mike Richter Award and Minnesota State's Alex Tracy has been selected and is advancing to the last stage, as voted on by a panel from across the hockey community. The award is given annually to the top goalie in men’s NCAA Division I hockey since 2014.

Tracy (Chicago, Ill.) is 25-8-3 with a 1.41 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage, with five shutouts. The CCHA Goaltender and Player of the Year, he was a two-time CCHA and National Goaltender of the Month and currently leads the nation in GAA and SV%. He was one of three finalists for CCHA Goaltender of the Year and a contender for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the top player in collegiate men's hockey.

Playing in 25 of Minnesota State’s 26 conference games, Tracy went 17-5-3 with a 1.43 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage, which all led the league. He turned away 640 shots in 1514:48 minutes, picking up two shutouts.

Three finalists will be announced in early March and the winner of this year’s Mike Richter Award will be announced in April during the NCAA Frozen Four in St. Louis.

Three NCAA Division I conferences are represented among the finalists with Hockey East boasting two players, with one each from the CCHA and Big Ten.
