Championship Preview: Prime Time

The 2025 Mason Cup Championship Game between third-seed St. Thomas and top-seed Minnesota State is set for Friday night at 7:07pm CT. The Mavericks are looking to claim their third CCHA tournament title since the league reformed in 2021-22, while St. Thomas is in search of its first trophy since joining the Division I ranks.

With the Mavericks already set to represent the league in the NCAA Tournament, there is still plenty to play for on Friday night in Mankato.

The championship game can be seen exclusively CCHA TV, by visiting midcosports.com/ccha (Select MSP2). Ben Holden (play-by-play) and Pat Micheletti (analyst) will be joined on the call by Andy Hedlund, who will be reporting rinkside.

The Mavericks and Tommies square off for the fifth time in 2024-25, playing for the Mason Cup Championship on Friday night. The Mavericks are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games, while the Tommies have won eight straight. MSU leads the season series 2-1-1 and owns a 29-11-2 all-time mark, dating back to 1975. St. Thomas and Minnesota State combined for five of the six First Team All-CCHA players this year, including Mavericks' netminder Alex Tracy, who was the Goaltender and Player of the Year in the conference.
