Regional Preview: Survive and Advance

No. 14 Minnesota State heads to Fargo, N.D., for an NCAA Tournament Regional matchup with No. 3 Western Michigan on Thursday. Puck drop is set for 4pm CT, with the winner scheduled to face either No. 5 Minnesota or No. 13 Massachusetts on Saturday (3pm CT or 5:30pm CT).

Thursday's game between the Mavericks and Broncos and the regional final can be seen live on ESPN U or ESPN+. The Gophers vs. Minutemen contest is available on ESPN 2.

The Mavericks and Broncos, who are meeting for the first time, both took home their respective conference regular season and playoff championships, winning the CCHA and NCHC, respectively. MSU is riding an 11-game unbeaten streak (10-0-1), while WMU have won six straight games.

Thurday's game boasts the top scoring offense in NCAA Division I Men's Hockey in Western Michigan, averaging 4.05 goals per game and top scoring defense in Minnesota State, allowing 1.47 goals per contest.Â
