Men's Ice Hockey 3/6/2025 2:00:00 PM Tracy Garners National Recognition Again Minnesota State junior Alex Tracy has been named the Hockey Commissioners’ Association’s Men’s National Goaltender of the Month for February, it was announced on Thursday. He also garnered this acclaim in November. Tracy (Chicago, Ill.) was unbeaten in February, going 5-0-1 with a 0.99 goals-against average and a .966 save percentage in six starts, posting one shutout. He totaled 170 saves across 364:07 minutes, averaging 28.3 stops per contest. Making 25 or more saves in all six appearances, Tracy had two games with 30+ saves, including a month-best 32 in a shutout of Lake Superior State on February 21. For the season, the Mike Richter Award Semifinalist has a 22-8-3 record, with a 1.45 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage in 33 starts. Has made a total of 823 saves in 1990:30 minutes, with four shutouts. He leads the nation in goals-against average and save percentage, while ranking second in wins, third in shutouts and 11th in total saves. Ayrton Martino (Clarkson) was selected HCA Men’s National Player of the Month for February, while Mick Thompson (Harvard) and Cole Hutson (Boston University) were Co-Rookie of the Month honorees. Tracy is the first two-time national monthly award-winner from the CCHA this season. He has been joined by Ryan Manzell (Michigan Tech) and Logan Morrell (Michigan Tech), who were selected Rookie of the Month in January and December, respectively, and fellow goaltender Josh Kotai (Augustana) who was honored in October.
