Tracy Named AHCA/CCM All-America

ST. LOUIS – Minnesota State men's hockey junior goaltender Alex Tracy (Chicago, Ill.) was named AHCA/CCM Hockey All-American second team for the 2024-25 season. The nation's top 24 college hockey players were announced tonight during "Friday Night at the Frozen Four" in St. Louis, Missouri. It is the first time in his career Tracy has been selected.
 
The CCM Hockey All-American Teams are sponsored by CCM Hockey and chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Asssociation.
 
Tracy was both Mike Richter Award Finalist (fourth in program history) and Hobey Baker Award Top-10 Finalist (ninth in program history) this season. He led the nation in two major goaltending categories, including goals against average (.946, first in all-time program history) and save percentage (1.424, third in all-time program history). His season accolades include CCHA Player of the Year, CCHA Goaltender of the Year, First Team All-CCHA, CCHA Student Athlete of the Year, CCHA Goaltender of the Month (Nov., Feb.), HCA National Goaltender of the Month (Nov.), CCHA Scholar Athlete and CCHA Goaltender of the Week (x5).
 
Tracy started 39 games (second in all-time program history) for the Mavericks and played 2,317:05 minutes (led CCHA, third in nation, second in all-time program history) with five shutouts (led CCHA, third in nation, fifth in all-time program history) and totaled 961 saves (second in CCHA, sixth in nation). He surrendered just 39 even strength goals in 38 games and posted a season-high 43 saves at Bemidji State (Nov. 1).
 
Tracy did not allow more than three goals to any opponent in 2024-25, making 29 saves to help the Maverick win the CCHA Mason Cup Championship vs. St. Thomas on March 21. In the NCAA Fargo Region semifinals, he made 42 saves and played 84:14 vs. Western Michigan in a 2-1 double-overtime loss to the Broncos. He also posted a shutout against Bemidji State with 27 saves in the CCHA semifinals.
 
In three seasons with the Mavericks, Tracy has played 80 games and holds a 1.91 goals against average and .926 save percentage with eight shutouts and 1,784 total saves. Tracy helped the Mavericks capture their ninth MacNaughton Cup title and third Mason Cup, vaulting MSU to its 10th NCAA Division I Tournament appearance.
