Men's Ice Hockey 1/14/2026 11:00:00 AM Six From CCHA Schools Headed to Olympics Six former collegiate hockey players head to the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, competing in Men’s Ice Hockey. Three CCHA teams will have players representing their home countries this February. Bowling Green | Ralfs Freibergs (2012-2014) Lake Superior State | Louis Boudon (2019-2023) and Lukas Kälble (2017-2021) Minnesota State | Teddy Blueger (2012-2016), Marc Michaelis (2016-2020), and Parker Tuomie (2017-2020) France | Louis Boudon Louis Boudon, from Grenoble, France, is a forward and former captain for Lake Superior State. Boudon is familiar with international competition, competing in many Junior and World Championship tournaments. After college, Boudon moved on to his professional career playing for the Laval Rockets (AHL), Iowa Wild (AHL), Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL), Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL), and Jukurit (Liiga). Germany | Lukas Kälble Lukas Kälble, from Mannheim, Germany, is a defenseman and former captain for Lake Superior State. Kälble played for multiple German teams from U17 to the World Championships. After college, Kälble turned professional with the Florida Everblades (ECHL), winning two straight Keller Cups. Kälble moved back to Germany, playing for Fischtown Pinguins (DEL) and, more recently, Adler Mannheim (DEL). Germany | Parker Tuomie Parker Tuomie, from Haßfurt, Germany, is a forward and former Minnesota State player. Tuomie played for Team Germany from U17 to the World Championships. After college, Tuomie played professional hockey in Germany, and in the DEL over the past six years, Tuomie played for Eisbären Berlin, Straubing Tigers, and Kölner Haie. Germany | Marc Michaelis Marc Michaelis, from Mannheim, Germany, is a forward and former captain for Minnesota State. Michaelis is familiar with international competition, having competed for Team Germany since the U16 team. His professional career began with the Vancouver Canucks (NHL), Toronto Marlies (AHL), SCL Tigers (NL), EV Zug (NL), and, most recently, with Adler Mannheim (DEL). Latvia | Teddy Blueger Teddy Blueger, from Riga, Latvia, is a forward and former assistant captain for Minnesota State. Blueger has played with Team Latvia throughout his career since U17. It is Blueger's first Olympic Games, as the NHL players will participate in the Olympics for the first time since 2014. Blueger started his professional career with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL), Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL), andVegas Golden Knights (NHL), and won the Stanley Cup. He is now playing with the Vancouver Canucks (NHL). Latvia | Ralfs Freibergs Ralfs Freibergs, from Riga, Latvia, is a defenseman and former player for Bowling Green. It will be Freibergs' third Olympics for team Latvia, as he previously participated in the 2014 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Throughout his professional career, Freibergs has played for St. John's IceCaps (AHL), Ontario Reign (ECHL), Toledo Walleye (ECHL), and Dinamo Riga (KHL). Later, he joined the Czech Extraliga League (EHL) with Berani Zlín (Czechia), HC Kometa Brno, HC Litvínov, Mountfield HK, and HC Vítkovice. The Men's Ice Hockey Olympic Tournament will be at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena and the Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena. The Men's Preliminary Rounds kick off on February 11th, while France, Latvia, and Germany will play their first games on February 12th.
