Men's Ice Hockey 2/2/2022 2:19:47 PM CCHA Players of the Month: January 2022 The CCHA is proud to recognize four student-athletes and its Players of the Month for the month of January. Bemidji State's Elias Rosen (Defenseman) & Mattias Sholl (Rookie), Michigan Tech's Blake Pietila (Goaltender) and Minnesota State's Julian Napravnik (Forward) took home the honors in the fourth month of the 2021-22 season.  CCHA Forward of the Month: Julian Napravnik, Sr., Minnesota State (Bad Nauheim, Germany) Minnesota State senior forward Julian Napravnik recorded 14 points in nine games, including six goals and eight assists during that span. He added one game-winning goal, three power-play tallies, and was plus-eight in January. Napravnik earned at least one point in eight of the nine games this month and also recorded 34 shots on goal.  CCHA Defenseman of the Month: Elias Rosen, Jr., Bemidji State (Mora, Sweden) Bemidji State junior defenseman Elias Rosen led all Bemidji State defenseman and finished tied for second on the Beavers with eight points (3G, 5A) in nine games during the month of January. Rosen tallied at least one point in five of the team's nine games. He scored the game-winning goal for the Beavers at Bowling Green, earned a plus-one rating and blocked five shots. He was also named the CCHA defenseman of the week on January 17th.  CCHA Goaltender of the Month: Blake Pietila, Jr., Michigan Tech (Howell, Mich.)  Michigan Tech junior goaltender Blake Pietila backstopped the Huskies to a 4-0 record in January. Pietila earned back-to-back shutouts at Lake Superior State, not allowing Lakers goal for the third straight game. He finished the month of January with a 1.00 goals against average (GAA) and a .952 save percentage (SAV%). Pietila has started all 23 games for the Huskies this season and now ranks second in the CCHA in goals-against average (1.82) and save percentage (.921). He ranks fourth in the nation in shutouts (4) and seventh in goals-against average.  CCHA Rookie of the Month: Mattias Sholl, Fr., Bemidji State (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) Mattias Sholl posted a 3-5-0 record during the month of January, including a 2.75 goals against average (GAA) and a .902 save percentage (SAV%). Sholl made 184 saves on 204 shots faced and stopped a career-high 38 saves at Michigan Tech on Jan. 29.
