Weekend Preview: Conference Clashes

Eight CCHA teams are in action this weekend across four conference series. No. 13 Minnesota State welcomes Ferris State to Mankato for a two-game set, while Bemidji State heads to Augustana for a rematch of last year's Mason Cup Playoff series. Meanwhile, St. Thomas hosts Lake Superior State in its first trip to LPA and Bowling Green takes on Northern Michigan at the Slate.

The No. 13 Mavericks ride a six-game winning streak into this weekend's matchup with Ferris State. The Bulldogs were off last weekend and split their most recent series with Lake Superior State. Minnesota State owns a 40-12-2 lead in the all-time series, including taking 3-of-4 meetings last year.

St. Thomas welcomes the Lakers to St. Paul for a two-game set this weekend at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena. The Tommies sport a pair of weekly award winners in Nick Williams (Defenseman) and Lucas Van Vliet (Rookie) after taking 5-of-6 points from their road series against Michigan Tech. Lake Superior State split their weekend series with Augustana the last time out.

The Beavers head to Sioux Falls to face Augustana this weekend, looking to add to their solid start to conference play. The Vikings came back to earn a split at Lake Superior State last weekend and enter this weekend just a point out of the fourth and final home ice spot. Bemidji State won a best-of-three Mason Cup Playoff series in its most recent trip to Midco Arena last March.
