CCHA Players of the Week: October 24-25

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for October 24-25 and four student-athletes from three different programs have been recognized. Stiven Sardarian (Michigan Tech) was named Forward of the Week, while Evan Murr (Minnesota State) earned the Defenseman of the Week award. Owen Bartoszkiewicz (Michigan Tech) was the Goaltender of the Week and Max Hildebrand (Bemidji State) picked up Rookie of the Week honors.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Stiven Sardarian, Sr., Michigan Tech (Saint Petersburg, Russia) 

 
Sardarian led the nation with four assists last week, helping Michigan Tech to a home sweep of Ferris State to open CCHA play. He was a +2 with three shots on goal and one block defensively. On Friday, he had two helpers - both on the power-play - in 5-1 Huskies victory. He then dished out two more assists in a 4-2 win.



CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Evan Murr, Jr., Minnesota State (Stillwater, Minn.) 
 
Murr led CCHA blueliners with two points on a goal and an assist last week, helping then-No. 20 Minnesota State to a home sweep of RPI. He totaled five shots on goal and blocked one shot defensively. On Friday, he scored a goal in the Mavericks' 4-2 win over the Engineers, before assisting on the eventual game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.



CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Owen Bartoszkiewicz, Jr., Michigan Tech, (Northville, Mich.) 
 
Bartoszkiewicz went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage last week, which were tops among two-start netminders in the CCHA and were fifth and fourth, respectively, in the nation. Turning away 57-of-60 shots on the weekend, he stopped 42-of-43 shots while the Huskies were at even strength. On Friday, he made 29 saves in a 5-1 victory over Ferris State, before registering 28 stops on Saturday - a 4-2 win.


 
CCHA Rookie of the Week: Max Hildebrand, Fr., Bemidji State (Martensville, Sask.) 
 
Hildenbrand went 1-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage last week, picking up a win in his first CCHA start on Saturday against Augustana. He stopped 25-of-27 shots in the contest, helping the Beavers to a 3-2 victory over the Vikings and a five-point weekend sweep.
