Saturday Recap: October Heat

Michigan Tech bounced back to earn a big split at No. 8 Minnesota, topping the Gophers, 5-3, on Saturday night, while No. 19 St. Thomas survived a big third period from St. Cloud State to win, 4-3. Lake Superior State opened its season with a 5-3 victory at Stonehill and Bemidji State finished off a road sweep of Alaska Anchorage, winning 5-0. Ferris State dropped a late heartbreaker at Miami, 3-1, while Northern Michigan saw its third period lead evaporate in a 5-3 loss at No. 15 UMass.

In exhibition action, Bowling Green fell to Robert Morris, 4-1.
